A refurbished 13 inch laptop: compact, around 1.2 kilos and the lightest we carry. From the Dell XPS 13 to the Latitude 7320 with touchscreen, checked on more than 30 points and with a 2-year warranty.
A 13-inch laptop has a screen of roughly 29.4 by 16.6 centimetres and weighs around 1.2 kilos. Refurbished we carry three: the Dell XPS 13 9360, the Latitude 7320 2-in-1 with a touchscreen and the HP ProBook 430 G8. Every machine is tested on more than 30 points and comes with a 2-year warranty.
For whoever carries it every day. That is the whole reason this size exists: under a kilo and a half, in any backpack, and still openable on a fold-out table in the train.
Students, consultants and anyone who works across locations choose it for that. You give up screen space and get portability in return.
If you mostly work at a desk, that is a bad trade. A 15 inch gives you a quarter more screen for a few hundred grams, and nobody lifts that one.
Three models, and all three are 13.3 inch with a Full HD screen. Here is what sets them apart.
| Model | Processor | Memory | What stands out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 | Intel Core i7 | 16 GB, 512 GB SSD | A touchscreen that folds right round through 360 degrees |
| Dell XPS 13 9360 | Intel Core i5 | 8 GB, 256 GB SSD | Narrow screen bezels, aluminium chassis |
| HP ProBook 430 G8 | Intel Core i3 | 8 GB, 128 GB SSD | The sharpest price in the shop |
The Latitude 7320 is the only one of the three you can use as a tablet. There is more about that on our page about laptops with a touchscreen.
For mail, Office, video calls and ten or so browser tabs, yes. Windows 11 runs fine on it and starts in seconds thanks to the SSD.
It gets tight as soon as you put heavier programs side by side, or work with large files. Windows then starts writing memory to the SSD and everything feels slower, even though the processor is fast enough.
If you are unsure, read how much memory a laptop really needs. If you want more room, the range starts at 16 GB with the 14 inch models.
| Size | Screen | Weight | With us |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13.3 inch | 29.4 x 16.6 cm | around 1.2 kg | 3 models, entry level |
| 14 inch | 31.0 x 17.4 cm | 1.1 to 1.5 kg | ThinkPads with 16 or 32 GB |
| 15.6 inch | 34.5 x 19.4 cm | 1.7 to 2.2 kg | The widest range |
Worth noting: a 14-inch ThinkPad sometimes weighs less than our 13-inch models, because they are newer and have a lighter chassis. So look at the weight per model and not only at the diagonal. The 14-inch page puts the differences side by side.
Not sure yet which size fits? The laptop finder walks you through the questions.
Because the price of a compact laptop sits mostly in the chassis, and that hardly ages. An aluminium XPS a few years old still feels solid.
Every machine goes through more than 30 checkpoints here: processor, memory, SSD, screen, keyboard, battery and all the ports. Whatever does not pass the test, we replace.
After that comes a clean installation of Windows 11 Pro. You get a 2-year warranty and 30 days to change your mind, and on orders placed before 12:00 the laptop leaves the same day.

The 13 inch refers to the diagonal of the screen. On the common 13.3 inch with a 16:9 ratio that is roughly 29.4 by 16.6 centimetres of screen. The laptop around it measures about 30 by 21 centimetres and therefore fits in almost any backpack, even next to a ring binder.
Three models: the Dell XPS 13 9360, the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 and the HP ProBook 430 G8. All of them with a Full HD screen of 1920 by 1080. The Latitude 7320 is the only one with a touchscreen that folds right round through 360 degrees.
Around 1.2 kilos for the models we carry. That is roughly 300 grams lighter than a 14 inch and almost a kilo lighter than a 15.6 inch. If you travel by train every day, you notice that difference by the end of the week.
For mail, Office, video calls and browsing, yes. Two windows side by side gets tight: you then read only half a sentence per line in each column. If you work a lot with spreadsheets or several documents at once, choose 14 inch or connect a monitor at home.
Only the Latitude 7320 2-in-1, which has 16 GB and a 512 GB SSD. The XPS 13 and the ProBook 430 have 8 GB and are therefore the entry-level models in our shop. If you definitely want 16 GB or more, the range at 14 inch is considerably wider.
The HP ProBook 430 G8, with an Intel Core i3, 8 GB of memory and a 128 GB SSD. That is our only HP in this size and at the same time the entry-level model of the shop. If you are looking for a 13-inch HP notebook with more computing power, you end up at 14 inch: that is where the ZBook Firefly 14 sits, with a Core i5 and 16 GB.
Yes, they are two words for the same machine. Notebook was the term for the thinner class back in the nineties; that distinction disappeared long ago. If you are looking for a 13-inch notebook, you will find the same three models here.
About three centimetres in width and 300 grams in weight, against noticeably more working room on screen. With us something else plays a part too: the 14-inch models are business ThinkPads with 16 or 32 GB of memory, while 13 inch is our entry-level segment.
